New issue of BJBMS published: February 2021

BJBMS has recently published its February 2021 issue. The current issue comprises articles from several fields of basic medical as well as the translational medical research.

In the new issue, you can learn about the new drugs and new indications by targeting HER2 expression in cancer by Vranić et al.  A review of the role of glycogen synthase kinase 3 (GSK3) in cancer with emphasis on ovarian cancer development and progression by Glibo et al. published in this issue may provide a new information about the pathophysiological and clinical implications of GSK3 activity in ovarian cancer. Furthermore, you can read about the cross-sectional imaging and cytologic investigations in the preoperative diagnosis of parotid gland tumors in the review by Stoia and colleagues.

An interesting experimental study by Kocamaz et al. revealed that low-dose adalimumab appears to have a beneficial effect on intestinal injury induced with hypoxia/reoxygenation in neonatal rats.. Furthermore, you can read an important article about the bioinformatics analysis revealing TSPAN1 as a candidate biomarker of progression and prognosis in pancreatic cancer by Ma and colleagues. Tang and colleagues in their study suggest that TPT1-AS1 may be a promising therapeutic target in gastric cancer.

In the article by Hartinger et al. you can read about the vancomycin-releasing cross-linked collagen sponges as wound dressings. SARS-CoV-2 virus outbreak and the emergency public health measures in Bosnia and Herzegovina from January 2020. to July, 2020. was studied in the article by Hukić et al. Furthermore, Šakušić et al. published a paper about the rapid, multimodal, critical care knowledge-sharing platform for COVID-19 pandemics.
