We are proud to announce that the Reviewer of the Month Award for October 2020 goes to Dr. Giovane Galdino de Souza.
As a means to promote the hard work and dedication invested “behind the scenes” in order to improve scientific publications, each month BJBMS Editors select a reviewer who performed the best amongst all the reviewers in the current month. Selection is based on the quality, thoroughness and the timeliness of review. It is a difficult task for our Editors, as they try not to underestimate the time and efforts of each of the reviewers who reviewed for the BJBMS in the current month.
Dr. Giovane Galdino de Souza is a researcher and professor at the Federal Univeristy of Alfenas. His current research interests are focused on neuroimmune interactions in pain.
We asked Dr. Giovane Galdino de Souza about the importance and other aspects of the peer-review process in general:
Peer review is of essential importance for the scientific community, mainly with the aim of offering scientific works with serious experimental designs and that meet ethical aspects, thus being able to somehow present or axillary in a future clinical applicability.
BJBMS congratulates Dr. Giovane Galdino de Souza and wishes him many awards and recognitions in the future.
