Rapid, multimodal, critical care knowledge-sharing platform for COVID-19 pandemics.

COVID-19 pandemic brought up an avalanche of disinformation and confusion exposing critically ill patients to suboptimal care and potential harm.

With support from WHO office in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the experts from Mayo Clinic and regional hospitals harnessed the power of modern technology to rapidly set up a multimodal knowledge sharing platform for COVID-19.

Within only two weeks, the platform included secure social media community with >2500 physicians from Ex-Yu countries and diaspora, a website with evidence based guidelines in BCS (Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian) language, and weekly multidisciplinary tele-discussion and coaching sessions helping thousands of health care workers easy access to rapidly changing best practice recommendations for patients affected with COVID-19.

In the article published in BJBMS the authors evaluated the feasibility and reach of this intervention, as well as participants’ engagement and satisfaction.
